This is a 14 year old Aultmore from The Whisky Agency, distilled in 2007 and bottled at 52.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a Fino sherry butt.
The nose is fresh, with green apples, juicy lemons, greengages, a soft oiliness and a little wax candle. The palate brings gristy, grainy notes with lemon balm, verbena, unripe green fruit and lime blossom, plus a light saline touch and a peppery edge. The cask influence is restrained.
The finish is medium long, turning zesty and slightly chalky.
