The Whistler 7 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Irish Whiskey (59%)

This is a seven-year-old single malt Irish whiskey from the Boann Distillery in the Boyne Valley, bottled at a cask strength of 59%. It matured mainly in bourbon casks, with a light finish in sherry casks to add roundness and body. The nose is salty, with deep caramel, orange peel and ripe red apples. On the palate citrus fruit comes forward, with hints of pepper and a salted caramel note. The finish is long, with spice building towards the end.
