The Yamazaki Bourbon Barrel 2013 Edition Single Malt Japanese Whisky (70cl, 48%)

The Yamazaki Bourbon Barrel 2013 is a Japanese single malt from the Yamazaki distillery, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It carries no age statement. This is the fourth release of the Bourbon Barrel and belongs to the Wood Collection, a series that ran from 2009 to 2014 and also took in Mizunara, sherry and puncheon cask expressions. The whisky was matured in an ex-bourbon cask of 180 litres. It is described as elegant and sweet, with rich vanilla and caramel notes from the bourbon wood and a smooth, well-rounded character.
