This is an 11 year old single malt from a Speyside distillery that is not named, bottled by Thompson Bros. It was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2023 at 48.5% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a refill sherry butt, and 1500 bottles were filled.
The nose is close to the raw ingredients, with grist, barley sugar, lime cordial, grapefruit peel, a freshly struck match, dry Riesling, and gamey, savoury notes of Amontillado and kombu. The palate follows with barley water, baked pastries, grapefruit, sultanas, mace, ginger and sea salt. The finish brings ginger, citrus peel, sultana and Amontillado.
