Two Tone Blend is a New Zealand blended whisky from Thomson Whisky, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It combines selected malt whiskies matured in two kinds of cask: European oak that previously held New Zealand red wine, and American white oak bourbon casks.
Thomson is a small craft distillery on the South Island, run by Mathew and Rachael Thomson and working since 2014. It uses regional ingredients and explores smoky styles shaped by peat and manuka wood.
The nose has fresh sea air, red berries and light spice. The palate brings caramelised fruit, apricot and a hint of smoke. The finish is spicy and long, with a fine peaty note.
