Togouchi 8 Year Old is a Japanese blended whisky, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The blend brings together malt whisky from Scotland and grain whisky from Canada, and every whisky in it is aged for at least eight years.
Togouchi is a brand from the Sakurao Distillery in Hiroshima, where the whisky is matured in an abandoned railway tunnel that creates its own microclimate.
The nose is of vanilla, icing sugar, pear drops, ripe banana and nuts, while the palate is oily and buttery with creamy vanilla, honey, almond and hazelnut. The finish is medium and sweet.
