Togouchi Cask Strength 1st Release 3 Year Old Single Cask Japanese Whisky (2021) (70cl, 52%)

This is a three year old single cask Japanese single malt from Togouchi, bottled at a cask strength of 52% in a 70cl bottle. It is one of the first two single malts released by Sakurao Distillery in Hiroshima, following earlier Togouchi bottlings that used large portions of imported Scotch whisky. The whisky was matured in the Togouchi Tunnels, an old railway trial tunnel in the mountains of Hiroshima, where the temperature and moisture levels suit the ageing of spirit. The nose brings freshly sliced apple, apricot and marmalade. The palate is light and gentle, with citrus fruit, vanilla and soft oak, and the finish is medium in length with floral and grassy tones.
