This is a 4 year old Sakurao single malt from Japan, distilled in 2019 and matured in a single bourbon barrel. It is a limited edition in the Craft Whisky Collection, a collaboration between the bottler Hua Yang and Whisky Magazine. The distillery was founded in 2018 and stands on the Seto Inland Sea in Hiroshima Prefecture.
The whisky is a dark old gold in colour. The nose is oily and salty, with a coastal sea breeze. The palate brings sweet spices, seaweed and iodine, and the finish is long and salty.
