Tomatin – 12 Year Old Cognac Cask (70cl, 46%)

This is a 12 year old single malt from Tomatin, distilled in 2008 and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is part of the distillery's French Collection, in which each whisky is finished in casks that held a different French drink. Here the finishing casks previously held Cognac, which brings red fruit, toasted nuts and festive spice. The nose offers raspberry and cranberry with a drizzle of caramel and chopped nuts. The palate is subtly floral, rich in toffee and orange, with a pinch of nutmeg. The finish has cinnamon, dates and a hint of dry oak spice.
