Tomatin – 14 2009/2024 LongValley Selection Bordeaux Barrique #1834

This single cask Tomatin from the Highlands was distilled in 2009 and bottled in January 2024 by LongValley Selection after 14 years in a single cask. That cask was a first-fill Bordeaux red wine barrique, number 1834, and it gave 328 bottles. The whisky is unfiltered and has no added colour. The nose has blackcurrant and blackberry with cinnamon and a light malt sweetness. On the palate come ripe plums and dark berries, with cloves and robust malt. The finish is fruity and moves into fine, dry oak spice.
