Tomatin 15 Year Old 2006 – Portuguese Collection – Port Casks (2022) (70cl, 46%)

This is a 15 year old Highland single malt from Tomatin, distilled in 2006 and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition and belongs to the Portuguese Collection, a set of three whiskies aged in Portuguese wine casks. This release was finished in Tawny Port casks, which add rich fruit, a soft sweetness and a warm, full finish. The nose is usually described as red fruit, cherries, stewed plums and vanilla. On the palate come sweet port notes, caramel, raisins and soft wood spice. The finish is full and round, slightly warming, with red wine accents.
