This is Tomatin 18 Year Old, a Highland single malt matured in Oloroso sherry casks. Tomatin was founded in 1897 and has been in Japanese ownership since 1984, the first Scottish distillery to be so.
The nose combines old furniture wood, burnt rubber, rum notes, orange peel and tobacco. The palate is full and rich, with a warming sweetness of malt and dark chocolate and a little citrus. The finish is lasting and solid, with a touch of dryness.
