Tomatin 18 Years Old is a single malt whisky from the Tomatin distillery, matured in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is fairly strong and full-bodied, with chewy grape and sultana, winter spices, clove and cinnamon. Vanilla fudge sits alongside a very supple thread of smoke, woven through cut herbs and apple peel. The palate is fairly sweet and full, with sugar and honeycomb, then orange chocolate and cocoa scattered over toasted oak. The finish is long and powerful, with dry, chewy oak and a touch of pepper.
