Tomatin – 1982 28 Year Old Single Cask (57%)

This is a 28 year old single cask Tomatin from 1982, bottled at a cask strength of 57%. It is a limited release of 560 bottles, matured in a sherry cask from the Highlands distillery. The nose is earthy and lightly smoky, with nutty dried fruit, a perfumed, slightly musky note and a delicate sweetness. Dark caramel and brown sugar run through it, along with crumbling spice. Other notes describe honey, aniseed and a hint of mint. The palate is rich, sweet and soft, with hazelnuts, spice and oak, and the finish is creamy with coconut.
