This is a 16-year-old Tomatin single malt, distilled in 2002 and bottled on 8th April 2019 by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength range. It was matured in a single first-fill bourbon barrel, cask 3180, and yielded 189 bottles at 59% ABV, without chill filtration or added colouring. Tomatin was founded in 1897 and sits in the Highlands, south of Inverness. On the nose there is caramelised apple with fresh lemon and oak. The palate moves from vanilla and fudge to dark chilli chocolate with citrus beneath, and the finish has a lingering herbal edge with mature oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
