Tomatin – 2006 15 Year Old Madeira Cask

This is a 15 year old Tomatin from 2006, finished in Madeira casks. It belongs to the distillery's Portuguese Collection. The whisky spent over 8 years in Scotch whisky casks before moving into Madeira casks to finish. The Portuguese Collection looks at three parts of Scotch whisky: the quality of the spirit, the quality of the casks and the people involved. One of them is Jose Mesquita, Tomatin's Portuguese Sales Ambassador since 1998, who felt from early in the relationship that Tomatin would age well in Portuguese wine casks.
