This is a 2007 vintage single malt from Tomatin in the Highlands, bottled independently by Gordon & MacPhail for the 2018 edition of its Discovery Series.
The whisky was matured in bourbon casks, and it stands for the bourbon style within a series that also has sherry and smoky expressions.
The nose is fresh, with vanilla and pear, elderflower, apple, strawberry and candied lemon. On the palate it is sweet, with pears and bananas, vanilla and a light touch of cask. The finish brings more vanilla and a smooth, charred-wood note.
