Cask Type
First-fill Bordeaux red wine barrique
This is a single cask Tomatin bottled for the LongValley Selection range, in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in April 2009 and matured for 14 years in a first-fill Bordeaux red wine barrique, then bottled in January 2024 at 50%. The cask gave 328 bottles. No colouring was added and it is not chill-filtered. The barrique brings berry fruit while the malty character of Tomatin remains. The nose offers barley malt, redcurrants and blackberries, with a little cinnamon and light floral notes. On the palate are wild berries and ripe plums, with clove and toasted malt. The medium-length finish leaves berry fruit, gentle spice and a hint of oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
