Tomatin – 2010 12 Year Old Italian Collection Marsala Cask (70cl, 46%)

This is a 12 year old Tomatin distilled in 2010 and released in 2023 as part of the distillery's Italian Collection. It is a small batch Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle at 46%. The whisky spent ten years in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a two year finish in casks that previously held Marsala, the Italian fortified wine. It was bottled without colouring or chill filtration. The tasting notes describe a nose of panettone and candied lime. On the palate come white chocolate, lemon truffles and hazelnut, and the finish returns to sweet citrus with blood orange and toasted oak.
