Tomatin – 21 Years (70cl, 46%)

Tomatin 21 Years is a Highland single malt matured for its full 21 years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. It was bottled by the distillery at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, originally for travel retail, in natural colour and without chill-filtration. The nose shows the bourbon casks clearly, with a pleasant measure of oak spice, vanilla, coconut and caramel, then baked apples, citrus fruit and a soft floral note. The palate is sweet and warming, with apple crumble, freshly baked croissants and Manuka honey, and ginger, clove and star anise adding layers of spice. The finish is long, fruity and buttery.
