This Tomatin from the Scottish Highlands was distilled in March 1989 and matured for 32 years by Gordon & MacPhail in a refill American hogshead. It is part of the Connoisseurs Choice range.
It was bottled at the end of 2021 at a natural cask strength of 54.5%, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring.
The nose is described as dried mango and pale lemon peel with toffee sweetness and a pinch of black pepper. Bittersweet grapefruit, ripe apple and soft caramel lead the palate, lifted by fine citrus. The finish brings tropical pineapple and soft vanilla, meeting spicy oak and a faint touch of peat smoke.
