Tomatin – 36 Year Old Batch 4 Bottled 2017 (70cl, 46%)

This is Tomatin 36 Year Old from Batch 4, a Highland single malt bottled by the distillery in 2017 at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The batch was a run of 800 bottles, and it is non-chill-filtered and free of added colour. The whisky was matured in first fill Spanish Oloroso sherry butts together with traditional oak casks. The 36 Year Old was first introduced in 2016, and Batch 4 was bottled in the year it won Best Scotch at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It is described as having old school Highland complexity alongside a tropical fruit character.
