Tomatin – Cask Strength (57.5%)

Tomatin Cask Strength is a single malt from the Highlands, bottled at 57.5% ABV. Introduced in early 2015, it was the first cask strength bottling in the Tomatin core range. The whisky is matured in a combination of bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks. Tomatin today works with four pot stills, a long way from the 23 it once ran. The nose is fruity, with orange, lemon and pear, then walnuts and ginger cake that turn sweeter as it fades. On the palate come toasted malt, marzipan and burnt sugar, followed by chestnuts, polished leather and tobacco with a touch of vanilla. The finish is dry and spicy.
