A peated Highland single malt from Tomatin, distilled in the winter of 1990 and presented as a limited edition in a 70cl bottle. Peated malt was unusual at the distillery at the time, and this was an early forerunner of the Cù Bòcan range.
It matured in ex-bourbon casks for over two decades and was bottled at a natural cask strength of 52.9% ABV, without chill filtration or added colour.
The nose is described as old leather, smouldering peat, ripe figs and aged wood. The palate is rich and oily, with dried tropical fruit, spice, dark chocolate, ginger and burnt orange peel over smoky embers. The finish is long, with peat, oak and a resinous sweetness.
