Tomatin – Cú Bòcan Bourbon Cask Single Malt (46%)

Cú Bòcan is a lightly peated single malt from Tomatin, a Highland distillery. This Bourbon Cask edition was matured in a combination of virgin oak, bourbon and sherry casks, and is bottled at 46%. The name belongs to a hellhound said to have haunted the villagers of Tomatin for centuries. The nose offers hints of smoke, sweet paprika, dried fruit and dark treacle caramel, with prominent wood, cream and malty notes. The palate is rich and fruity, with butterscotch, almonds, dark chocolate, coffee, biscuits and roasted chestnuts. The finish starts slowly with marked sweetness and light smoke that turns drier with time.
