Cù Bòcan Creation #8 is a lightly peated single malt produced at Tomatin Distillery in the middle of winter. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in ice wine casks and verdejo casks. Ice wine is a dessert wine made from grapes frozen on the vine, and here it gives a whisky that is both smoky and sweet.
The nose is sweet fruit with gentle heather smoke, baked apples, poached pears, apricot jam and honey syrup. The palate is silky and sweet, turning fresher and slightly smoky, with honeycomb, peach, marmalade and lime zest. The finish carries sweet wine and fruit into smoky honey, citrus peel and soft oak spice.
