Tomatin – Cù Bòcan Creation No.5 (70cl, 46%)

Cù Bòcan Creation No.5 is a Highland single malt from Tomatin, made from lightly peated Scottish barley. It was distilled in December 2011 and first matured in refill American oak hogsheads. In June 2021 it was moved into Andean oak casks, and it was bottled a little over a year later at 46%. Andean oak grows at altitudes of 3,500 to 4,000 metres and is described as floral and fruity, with orange blossom, rose, mango, papaya and passion fruit. The nose is buttery shortbread and floral malt, with rooibos tea and fresh charcoal. The palate has creamy white chocolate and grilled peach, then plum jam, aromatic herbs and toasted, woody spice. The finish brings campfire banana split, creaminess, soft fruit and elegant wood smoke.
