Tomintoul 14 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colour.
It matured in ex-bourbon casks of American oak. The character is sweet, with a full, buttery mouthfeel, and the malt is not smoky. Tomintoul was founded in 1965 in the Cairngorms National Park and uses soft water from the Ballantruan spring.
The nose is sweet, with sugared almonds, icing sugar, orchard fruit and crème brûlée, plus a touch of lemon cream. The palate brings Madagascan vanilla and roasted almonds with cinnamon pastry, oat biscuits and citrus oils. The finish is warming and toasty, with roasted hazelnuts, mocha and fresh grassy notes.
