Tomintoul 16 is a sixteen-year-old Speyside single malt, bottled by the distillery at 40% in a 70cl bottle and supplied in a tube.
It is matured in selected ex-bourbon casks of American oak. Master Distiller Robert Fleming counts it among his personal favourites, and it combines a sweet, creamy character with fruit and light spice.
The nose is creamy and sweet, with heather honey, soft nougat, vanilla fudge and toasted brioche, plus a fresh touch of lemon peel. The palate is nutty and round, with crème brûlée, sweets, mocha and amaretti. The mild, warming finish keeps butter pastry, cinnamon glaze and crunchy toffee.
