Tomintoul 16 Year Old is a Speyside single malt made from a selection of American oak ex-bourbon casks, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is the favourite single malt of master distiller Robert Fleming, and has won multiple awards.
It is well balanced, sweet and creamy, fruity and lightly spiced, with a long finish.
The nose is creamy and sweet, with heather honey, soft nougat, vanilla fudge and toasted brioche, lifted by lemon zest. The palate is nutty and round, with layers of crème brûlée and boiled sweets alongside mocha and amaretti biscuit. The finish is soft and warm, with buttery biscuits, cinnamon icing and brittle toffee.
