This is an 8 year old Tomintoul, distilled on 1 September 2014 and bottled in the winter of 2022. It comes from Claxton's Warehouse No. 1 series, in an outturn of 357 bottles.
The whisky matured in an Oloroso sherry hogshead.
The nose is rich, with rum and raisin fudge, chocolate-covered raisins and coffee beans. The palate begins sweet and fruity, then moves to milk chocolate and deep cocoa. The finish is sweet with sherry, full of flavour and spicy.
