This Tomintoul was distilled in 2001 and matured for 22 years in a refill American hogshead. It was bottled from a single cask on 10 January 2024 for Gordon & MacPhail's Connoisseurs Choice range, giving 242 bottles at a cask strength of 54.5%. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose combines lively citrus with red apple and mango, then roasted peanuts, a floral undertone and toasted oak. The palate is velvety, with poached pear, butterscotch and coconut, followed by white chocolate and lemon and lime peel. Fresh tropical fruit lingers in the medium-bodied finish.
