A 25-year-old single malt from Tomintoul, the Speyside distillery, bottled by the distillery at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matured in bourbon barrels, and master distiller Robert Fleming selects the casks for this bottling. It was named Best Scotch Whisky at The Global Spirits Masters in 2020.
The nose is rich, with toffee and dark sugar syrup, oat biscuits and sultanas, while muscovado sugar and toasted oak add detail. On the palate, salted caramel and maple syrup meet pipe tobacco and caramelised nuts, held together by oak spice, with stone fruit alongside. The finish is long and warming, with coffee cake, caramel cream and burnt sugar.
