Tomintoul 30 Year Old – 30th Anniversary Robert Fleming First Edition (2020) (70cl, 49.7%)

This Tomintoul 30 Year Old marks the 30th anniversary of Robert Fleming, the man who built Tomintoul into a Speyside distillery of note. It is the first edition, drawn from 481 bottles, bottled in 2020 at 49.7% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky spent an extended period in bourbon casks before a finish in Oloroso sherry butts. The nose brings dried fruit, honey, toffee and soft spice, with nuts, old oak and sherry sweetness beneath. The palate is rich yet elegant, balancing sweet sherry, spice and mature wood, and the finish is long, warm and refined.
