Tomintoul Cognac Cask Finish is a Speyside single malt bottled at 40%. It was matured in American oak casks that previously held bourbon, then finished in European casks that held cognac, which adds a fruity, winey character.
The nose offers ripe grapes, stone fruit, honey, vanilla and a faint floral touch. The palate is soft and silky, with pear, apricot, caramel and almonds, a light spice and a winey background from the cognac. The finish is medium to long and warm, with sweet fruit, honey and gentle oak.
