Tomintoul Seiridh is a single malt Scotch whisky finished in sherry casks, in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. Seiridh, pronounced 'sheh-ree', is the Scottish Gaelic word for sherry.
The whisky first ages in American oak ex-bourbon casks, then finishes in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts. Tomintoul's master distiller, Robert Fleming, hand-picked those butts from a family-owned bodega in Andalucia, Spain.
The nose offers Fruit & Nut chocolate, malted barley, cranberries, raspberries and faint vanilla. The palate brings sherry Bundt cake, toasted nuts, milk chocolate, toffee and Christmas spices, and the finish has charred oranges, red liquorice laces, toffee and red fruits.
