Tomintoul Tlàth is a Speyside single malt bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The name is Gaelic for gentle or mellow, echoing the phrase 'the gentle dram' used on every Tomintoul bottling.
It comes from a careful, hand-picked selection of casks holding whiskies of various ages, all matured in American oak bourbon barrels.
The nose is soft and sweet, with shortbread, flaked almonds, honey and vanilla pod. On the palate it is creamy and nutty, with butter pastry, stewed apple, almond fingers and a hint of cinnamon. The finish is gently spiced, with roasted hazelnuts, cocoa powder and oat biscuit.
