Tomintoul White Port Cask Finish is a Speyside single malt from a small batch. Master Distiller Robert Fleming chose whiskies first matured in ex-bourbon barrels of American oak, then married them and finished them in barriques that previously held white port from Portugal. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle, chill-filtered and without added colour.
The nose has stone fruit and lychee with lemon cake, vanilla pod and ginger biscuits. The palate brings apricot pastry, poached pears and tarte tatin, with black coffee, buttery malt and baking spices. The finish is sweet and warming, with Swiss roll and strawberry trifle moving into mocha and toasted nuts.
