Torabhaig – Legacy Series Allt Gleann

Allt Gleann is a heavily peated single malt from Torabhaig, the distillery on the Isle of Skye, and the second release in its Legacy Series of four. It was made with Concerto and Laureate barley peated to 77ppm, and it is non-chill-filtered with no added colouring. Torabhaig was founded in 2017 and is set up to make a traditional island-style malt of medium weight and medium peat, with a long fermentation in wooden washbacks and plenty of copper contact. The nose is aromatic peat with barley sugar, honey and spicy smoke. The palate is soft and creamy, with sweet, almost bonfire smoke, coal tar, oily brine, floral hints and sweet spice. The finish is long, carrying the sweet spice.
