Sound of Sleat is the fourth release in the Torabhaig Legacy Series, a single malt from the distillery on Skye. It is named after the narrow stretch of sea between Skye and the mainland.
The barley is peated to 78 PPM+ and the whisky is matured entirely in American oak: first-fill heavily toasted barrels, first-fill Bourbon barrels and refill Bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration or added colouring.
The nose offers orange, apricot and sweet seaweed, followed by bonfire smoke, honey and sea salt on the palate. The finish is long and elegant.
