A distillery bottling of Torabhaig Sound of Sleat at batch strength, 60.2% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It is not coloured or chill-filtered. The whisky matured in 75% first fill bourbon barrels, 20% virgin American oak casks and 5% refill bourbon barrels.
The nose opens with smoke, brine and sweet oak spice, with fragrant tobacco, orange molasses, a touch of apricot and seaweed behind the peat. The palate is robust yet elegant: spicy oak, campfire embers and a waxy texture, with sweet vanilla, white pepper and a little oriental smoke. The finish is long, with a youthful, fiery edge, spice, paprika and a coastal character.
