Torabhaig – Sound of Sleat (70cl, 46%)

Sound of Sleat is a peated whisky from Torabhaig, in the Islands region of Scotland. It was matured in American oak casks and bottled by the distillery at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is natural in colour and not chill-filtered. The nose is led by gentle peat smoke, with citrus, a touch of sea salt, a little fruit and some vanilla. On the palate the smoke is balanced, set against green apple, white pepper and light malt sweetness, with a mineral freshness and oak spice. The finish is medium to long, with a trail of smoke, citrus peel and a hint of spiced wood.
