Transcontinental Rum Line Jamaica 5 Year Old 2016 Dual Continent Aged (70cl, 57.2%)

This is a five-year-old Jamaican rum distilled in 2016 and bottled at a cask strength of 57.18% vol. It was distilled from molasses in pot stills, matured first in Jamaica and then finished in Europe, in ex-bourbon casks. It is non-chill filtered and has no additives. The nose is funky and aromatic, with ripe banana, pineapple, varnish and spice, followed by oak, citrus peel and brown sugar. The palate is intense and full-bodied, with tropical fruit, molasses and vanilla, balanced by pepper, toasted oak and a hint of olive brine. The finish is long and dry, with spice, caramelised fruit and light smoke.
