This is a 9 year old Bunnahabhain bottled by Tri Carragh at 58.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2022, after maturing in a refill bourbon hogshead.
The nose opens with boozy vanilla sponge, marzipan, sweet tobacco and sea air, with a hint of burnt marshmallow. With water it turns floral, with heather, grassy dunes and a touch of lemon.
On the palate come sweet, salted under-ripe pear, lemon and mint cordial, sherbet and white pepper. Water brings out a little smoke, a slight spicy bite and more juicy apple and melon.
