This is Tullamore D.E.W. Original, an Irish blended whiskey, supplied in the brand's hand-painted green and cream ceramic crock in a 750ml size.
The whiskey is a blend of grain, malt and pot still Irish whiskeys. It is triple distilled and aged in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks. The brand was established in 1829 in Tullamore, County Offaly, and the D.E.W. in the name comes from Daniel E. Williams.
The nose is gentle, with apple, pear, light vanilla, honeyed barley and a soft herbal note. On the palate come apple, vanilla, light spice and a touch of toasted wood, with a slightly oily richness. The finish is clean, soft and warming.
