Tullamore Dew XO Caribbean Rum Cask Finish (70cl, 43%)

This is an Irish blended whisky from Tullamore D.E.W., bringing together triple-distilled grain, malt and pot still whiskies. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The blend is finished in first-fill XO rum casks that previously held Demerara rum. The choice of cask followed trials with several Caribbean rum styles, and the finish also recalls the Irish emigrants who took part in developing Caribbean rum in the 17th century. Vanilla and oak lead the nose, with citrus, ripe banana and a little spice. The palate is full and creamy, with caramel, banana, dates and raisins, and the sweet finish is long.
