Turntable Black Betty Track 8 (70cl, 52.5%)

Black Betty is the eighth track in Turntable's limited series of blends. Single malts from Glenlossie, Balmenach, Caol Ila and Glen Moray are married with Loch Lomond single grain, then matured together for a further 20 months in Ruby Port hogsheads. It is bottled at 52.5%, without chill-filtering or added colour. Glenlossie from a hogshead brings lemon cake, Balmenach from a first-fill rye barrel adds jam and ginger, Caol Ila from virgin oak gives smoke and toasted marshmallow, Glen Moray from a second-fill bourbon barrel contributes summer fruits, and Loch Lomond adds roasted nuts. The nose is ripe strawberries and dark berries with creamy caramel. The palate has citrus, ginger and jam with cigar notes, and the finish is gentle coastal smoke.
