Turntable Spirits Paradise Funk Blended Scotch Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Paradise Funk is a blended Scotch whisky from Turntable, a blending house run by the Glasgow brothers Gordon and Ally Stevenson. It combines malt and grain whiskies from several casks: bourbon barrels, former Cognac casks, virgin oak barrels and chinkapin barrels. The largest part, 30%, is an unnamed Speyside malt from virgin oak, followed by 20% Benrinnes, 18% Invergordon, 13% Knockdhu, 11% North British and 8% Blair Athol. It is bottled at 46%, without chill-filtering or added colour. The nose brings exotic fruit with vanilla and oak. On the palate, caramelised pineapple meets sweet toffee, and the medium finish holds toffee, vanilla and oak.
