Turntable Spirits Track 2: Firestarter (70cl, 46%)

Firestarter is a blended malt from Turntable Blending House, the second release in its Turntable Spirits series. It takes its name from the song by The Prodigy, chosen to reflect the whisky's flavour and attitude. Caol Ila single malt forms the main part of the blend, and the whisky is heavily peated. The components were matured in virgin oak and chinkapin barrels: Caol Ila in virgin oak (40%), Cameronbridge in virgin oak (23%), Benrinnes in chinkapin (22%) and Invergordon in virgin oak (15%). It is described as smoky and maritime, with a sweetness that recalls marshmallow. Bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour.
