Two Stacks Smoke & Mirrors Peated Irish Whiskey Cognac and Maple Syrup Stout Finish

A peated Irish whiskey from Two Stacks, made at the Great Northern Distillery in County Louth and matured by Two Stacks in Newry. It is built on whiskey from imperial oatmeal stout casks, married with peated malt and other malt components. The finish takes place in casks that previously held an imperial stout from Behon Brewery, bringing maple syrup and cognac wood into the mix. The nose is powerful, with pronounced roasted aromas. The palate centres on smoked bacon, caramel and salted chocolate, with smoky depth, and the finish is long and velvety.
